Our painters

Was born in 1925 in Odessa, later moved to Kyiv. During 1942-1945 he was participating at the war. After it, Vadim entered in Kyiv Art University. His diploma work "Dear Guests" was exhibited at the XI Exhibition of Fine Arts of USSR in 1952.

Usually artist chose for his works subject of Carpathian Mountains. There he found rich landscapes, depicted life and portraits of  carpathian people.

Due to serial of landscapes, named "Carpathian mountains" in 1971 Vadim Odaynik got title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine.

Later he was rewarded with State Prize of Taras Shevchenko for such works as "Triple music", "Red Blacksmith's", "Marriage of Hutsulians" and "The Spring".

Subject-matter of hutsulian (people, who lives near Carpathian mountains) way of life in his paintings, created in style of impressionism, had a great success. A lot of such works now are placed in National Art Museum.

Exhibitions of Odaynik's works, held in Poland, Japan, Yugoslavia, Austria, impressed western art experts a lot.

Unique paintings of Ukrainian artist found glory all around the world. Now his works are in more than 100 museums of the world, such as  State Tretyakovskaya Gallery (Russia), National Art Museum and Museum of Second World War (Ukraine), art gallery "Kuso" (Japan), "The Mattew" and "The Chambers Gallery" (Great Britain).

A lot of paintings are placed in private collections in Italy, Austria, USA, France, Korea, France.

Paintings of Vadim Odaynik has its own original style, which was entirely developed in impressionism in 70-s and could be noticed in his works "Village fair" and "Marriage". And such work as "Wild mallow" we can see style of French impressionism school.

Without any doubts, paintings of master Vadim Odaynik bring in themselves  a great value not only for Ukrainian, but for world community.
